Going around the circle last night during our Adult Basics Series, I heard several students tell a familiar story along the lines of "I've always wanted to do this and I felt like the time was right."
And this does seem to follow the general trend I've seen over the past decade or so. What was once the domain of teenage boys is now a much more diverse culture with participants of all ages, genders and walks of life. Perhaps the aging of skateboarding itself has helped bring about this acceptance. We have families skating together and crews of skaters making space for once marginalized groups within skating.
Central to SKATEYOGI's vision to celebrate our differences with peace and respect, we have always strived to create a nurturing environment for anyone to come and experience the joy of skateboarding.
I'm happy to say this fall we have our widest offering of skate classes yet. Whether you're a tot, kid, teen or adult, we've got classes and some of them outdoors at some of the best skate spots NYC has to offer. Just below we have a breakdown of all the times and locations as well as spots remaining as of today. Please email us with any questions.
Looking forward to skating with you soon!
