Hello everyone! Thank you for tuning into the stream yesterday! I was particularly excited about the Vans' Credits video. It's definitely worth another watch! The girls in it all rip.
Hi everyone! I hope you had a great start to the week! We had some great videos today, but my favorite is the Cardiel video. Check it out if you didn't get a chance to see it!
Hi everyone! This is Kevin from SKATEYOGI. While I was taking care of a few things at our shop, I figured I would make a quick video for some skateboard hacks you can do at home while social distancing!
I actually had my first ever virtual skateboarding lesson with a student from Houston, TX. That worked really well – we looked at his kick flips; he learned frontside no complies; we played the game of SKATE etc. That was really cool, and we are thinking of doing more virtual lessons!
If you already have a normal skateboard...let's turn it into an indoor skateboard!
First, I'm going to show you how to make your normal skateboard a little easier to skate inside.
Step 1: Take a skate tool (or socket wrench)
Step 2: Tighten the axle nut (Turn it to the right clockwise) – Don't overdo it to avoid damaging your bearings.
Step 3: Tighten until your wheel doesn't spin that well.
Step 4: Repeat x 3
Now, you have a board that's more stable. If you are going to be "skating" in a smack area like a room with a carpet, even a little patch of concrete you might have in a basement or anywhere you can find.
1. Practice Your Stance
1. Step up and down (watch the video to learn the basics of how to step on/off the board here!)
2. With your front foot on the board, practice pushing by moving your back foot. Develop your balance.
3. Practice going up and down
4. Give yourself a little challenge - Balance without touching anything!
2. Flip the board
3. Jump onto the board
Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by the stream today. We had some great videos. For some inspiration for isolation skateboarding, check out the Instagram post from Transworld.
Here are the links from the stream! We had some amazing parts from Arto and PJ, so be sure to check them out. They are truly timeless, so you can watch them again and again (like me).
Here are the links from today's stream. A couple of longer videos, but some great homie videos so you can see a bunch of different skating styles and tricks.
Here are the videos from our 4/8 stream! For those of you who hear "frontside flip" and "backslide flip" but don't know what they are, check out the first two videos. If you're missing the SKATEYOGI mini-ramp like I am, the last videowill hopefully give you some mini-ramp inspiration.
Hello SKATEYOGI Community!
Thanks for tuning in to the stream yesterday. We started out with an in-depth look into shove its - specifically pop shove it and frontside shove it. The rest of the stream had a European theme. See you all Wednesday!
