Winter series kicks off this coming Monday 11/13 and runs through Sunday 3/3. For the colder months we take full advantage of our indoor skate spaces with creative ramp setups and fun skate games. When the temps are manageable we have our roof ramp at Williamsburg and Jackie Robinson Playground nearby PLG for some fresh air skate fun.
For anyone from 2 year olds up to adults we have options to keep you moving on your board this Winter! This weekend, we are offering trial classes on Sunday 11/12 at SKATEYOGI PLG! All the rental gear is included. $69 per person. Register here.
See you at the sesh! Kevin

Every costume gets extra style points when you skate while wearing it! ️ Saturday 10/28 Come see us at community Halloween events! Try out a spooky Floor is Lava course and participate in the festivities. (No RSVPs necessary – Just come!)
Tuesday 10/31 If you happen to be trick or treating in the PLG neighborhood on Halloween night, stop by SKATEYOGI for a treat and to check out our space on full spooky mode! Things are warming up indoors at SKATEYOGI as we get ready to keep skateboarding through the colder months. We've swapped some ramps between our 2 locations to spice things up. So cool to see all the creative setups the students and teachers have already come up with! Our Winter kids series start up November 13 so check out the schedule and reserve your spot to keep rolling.
November Adult 4-week classes start up Nov 1 with Basics and Beyond the Basics classes. Adult student classes come with complimentary access to our Adult Open Skate. These sessions have been a great community space for adults to skate and have fun without the distractions and intimidation of a crowded skatepark. See you at the sesh! Kevin I've been seeing clips of this new skatepark in Queens for a little while now since people have been hopping the fence while it was still under construction. The main draw is the promise of the rare medium sized bowl in a NYC skatepark. Not the birdbath of a bowl at Golconda, or the enormous bowls of Chelsea or Riverside.
I finally went to check it out and was generally impressed. Sure, the shape is a little unusual and the deep end somehow seems less steep than the shallow end, but I'm sure after repeat visits you'll get the hang of it. Plus, the park has two other pretty distinct sections for a variety of skating. In the middle is a street area reminiscent of Owl's Head since you basically roll in and fly around. In the back there is a kiddie pool section that looks like it's out of Alice in Wonderland like you just drank the size-up potion. Some really fun quick feet combos in there. It's also a nice little spot for the actual kiddos to skate around while the big kids jump down the 4-block or handrails. Only downside is there's no subway stop nearby so you'll either drive, bike or connect to the bus stop nearby. Enjoy! When school’s out for holidays or breaks we go into adventure mode skating our indoor spaces and going on trips to skateparks around the city. This Monday the campers had a blast meeting up for a mega sesh at the new Broadway Junction Skatepark. Check out upcoming camps for more action packed skate fun!

SKATEYOGI will be in full decoration mode with lights, sounds and fog to enjoy if you dare! The Winter Series starts up next month! Our indoor skate spaces in Williamsburg and Prospect Lefferts Gardens are the perfect place for skaters to take shelter from the freezing temps and snow. We are looking forward to getting creative with plenty of modular ramp setups and staying active with fun group skate games.
For this next series we are introducing a new class called Little Juniors for ages 3-4. This is a bridge class to independent skating with parent participation optional. This could be a good option for the older Skate Tots or younger Juniors students. See you at the Winter sesh! Kevin Fall has officially arrived! You can feel the crisp air and urethane screeching across concrete and enjoy the few extra layers that provide some extra protection from a flip trick gone astray. At our indoor spaces we got to work a little earlier getting the spooky decor up. The kids are enjoying the spiders and skeletons and cobwebs. Stay tuned for costumed skate fun later in the month!
