Program Director / Instructor
What animal embodies your personality?
A French Bulldog. They're short, stocky, cute, rambunctious, and make a lot of noise no matter what they're doing. I tend to make a lot of noise when I skate, whether it is grunting or laughing. I also always make sure I have fun when I skate - if I'm not having fun then what is the point! I always want to be positive and high energy to bring good vibes to wherever I end up.
What inspired you to start skating?
It took the majority of my life to get the guts to start skating, but ultimately who inspired me was seeing Queer and Trans people skating. The recent uptick during the pandemic that made skateboarding more accessible to people of different walks of life is so important. I'm a quarantine skater myself, and I owe a lot of my courage and confidence to start skating, not only to myself, but to the LGBTQIA2S+ Community before me that helped me feel safe to do so.
If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Super healing! This way if I get injured skating, it isn't the end of the world. I also would be excited to try some huge stair sets!
What's your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I like to start off my morning with coffee and some high energy, positive skate video. I take a nice long bike ride and meet my friends at Blue Park or Cooper to warm up for a sesh. Hopefully after that we’ll head out to a spot, and spend most of our day skating street and filming. I also like to spend my off days painting or making something with my hands.
What music pumps you up to skate?
To be honest I don't really like to skate to music very often! But if I do skate, I love to start off my day/sesh with some hyperpop. Imagine a lot of noises, fast music, and high pitche vocals. Yameii Online is who I’m listening to recently - it is so cute and really gets me grooving and in a good mood.
What is your favorite skate video part?
I don't have a skater specific video part, but Euro There is one a video that always comes to mind when I think of skate videos that warm my heart. There Skateboards is the epitome of why skateboarding has such a bright future with non-traditional skateboarders. The people on the There Skateboard team have always been so sweet to me and welcoming of new skaters. The video is so fun to watch, filled with creative skateboarding, and really is what I hope everyone gets a chance to experience when they go skate.
What is your favorite sweet?
Although it isn't technically a sweet, something sugary that I need every single day is my iced coffee! I always order it light and full of sweetener.
What's your favorite hobby? (Besides skateboarding)
I really enjoy a good bargain, and collecting cute knick knacks. I tend to fill my home with small trinkets, and I love to dress in lots of color when I'm not working. Shopping as always been a fun past time, but bargain hunting has that fun competitive edge to it! (Even though I’m only competing with myself and my own wallet.)
