Somewhere in between complaining about the arctic conditions and then complaining about the gritty heat that is felt, seen and smelled, we get a quick taste of perfect skating weather here in NYC, that is, when it's not raining like today. Hope everyone has had a chance to push around under the newly minted tree leaves, peep some cherry blossoms or just take a few minutes to double back for that metal curb slappy grind cause what's the rush anyways...
Had a great time with the fam last sunday repping SKATEYOGI on the 5 boro bike tour. Good times, and we kept it chill, considering the extra cargo, decided to skip the BQE and Staten Island instead calling it a day in DUMBO to grab some ramen.
Adult Class on Saturday at 10am instead of 11am
Hi Adults! Sorry to mess with your schedule again this week but I've got a Lego party to host at noon in the city. A few of you were down for some more outdoor skating so I'm gonna do a 10am Adult Beginner class at Douglass Greene Park (3rd Ave between Douglass and Degraw). Hope to see you there!
New kids class! Rise and Grind!
Starting this weekend, every Sunday from 9:30am-10:30am we're gonna kick off the day with a Rise and Grind class at Douglass Greene park (3rd Ave between Douglass and Degraw). This is an open-level kids class so everyone can come and shred first thing in the morning. There's some obstacles there to learn curb drops, grinds and slides in addition to getting more comfortable at pushing around with all that extra space!
All-girls sesh this Saturday at Skate Brooklyn (4-7pm)
Calling all female skateboarders, all ages and abilities! Once again the Girls Riders Organization is hosting an all-girls sesh at Skate Brooklyn. 4-5:30pm for beginners; 5:30-7pm for the rippers!
Skateboarding is fun!
You cant categorize it or put it in a neat box; riding a skateboard is just fun and here's a 2 minute video clip of some pretty wacky skating as a nice reminder...
