Pretty hyped on adult skateboarding right now! Last week's beginner class was full of smiles and good times. Something about getting adults out of their day-to-day and into circle time sitting on skateboards in the middle of an indoor ramp slapping high fives. Reservations melt away and once again we're like kids in the playground just making friends and spending an hour doing something pretty rad. We talk about warming up, physically and mentally stretching ourselves, by the time you leave you realize you had a nice little workout but more importantly shared some time just playing and giving your spirit a reason to smile :)

Then at this past week's Old Man Monday sesh at Homage I was surprised to see a few SKATEYOGI parents checking out the scene. One told me they were honestly a bit intimidated, not expecting the old man sesh to be as hype as it was, but nevertheless stuck around and got a drop-in on the small corner while the seasoned rippers banged boards to cheer on the accomplishment. Come and check it out if you're interested! I'm there most weeks. It's from 7-10pm so I'd recommend getting there right at 7pm if you're trying to warm up since it's pretty mellow in the beginning. Then feel free to hang out, maybe bring along an adult beverage and catch some of the positive energy!

Due to cold weather the outdoor Rise and Grind sesh will be put on hold until Spring. Saturdy in a little bit it's Adult beginners at 11am! On Sunday there's the Groms at 11am and the Shredders at 12:30pm. Still slots left so sign up here if you haven't already!

To continue on the old man skater theme I wanted to post up this clip of Jahmal Williams' part in Orchard Skateshop's newest video Stone Soup. He's turned pro for Toy Machine over 20 years ago and continues to rip! Really chill dude, rad artist, owner of Hopps Skateboards and also a dad! Besides all that he's originally from Boston currently living in Brooklyn. Back when I used to live in Boston I'd bump into him skating around he always had good vibes.
