greetings from the great indoors! The 40 degree swings in temperature have left the little one with a bit of a fever so it's been a sick day at home full of princess puzzles and soup-eating (and a few skate videos)... with the temps thawing out just a bit over the next few days it's a perfect chance for everyone to go skate, pull the bikes out or just hang up the snow boots for a bit. But that's not to say the streets where completely empty earlier this week. NYC skater Eby Ghafarian got a dope pic nose bonking some snow right in the middle of the polar vortex of doom; The Skateboard Mag reposted on their instagram so that was chill. Even with dumps of snow and tundra conditions we got some good skating in last week. Saturday's adult class was good vibes as always and on Sunday the kids came through again and were hyped! Super stoked that one student who just started skating ramp this winter and has been coming every week got his first drop-in! And with Jeremy from Skate Brooklyn's help as a spotter I got this moment on the camera phone, so sick! The fun continues this weekend. Adults class on Saturday at 11am and kid's on Sunday at 11am. See you there! And this weekend is also the second Saturday of the month so that means it's time for another Girl Riders Org ladies-only skate sesh at Skate Brooklyn from 4-7pm. It's a beginner workshop from 4-5:30 and then the rippers take over for the drop-in sesh from 5:30-7pm. Come through and bring a friend! For clip of the week I gotta give some love to this vid I saw at Skate Brooklyn last week. Not sure how they found it, it's only got 255 views on Youtube but it's absolutely worth the 51 seconds to see this insane butt drop from the rafters at Burnside. I got the chance to visit this DIY skate mecca in Portland last summer for a breakfast sesh and can say this drop is even gnarlier when you see it in person. Enjoy! namaSKATE!
