Summer vibes

¡Hola, Amigos!

Getting a taste of the summer vibes in this heat radiating through the city, more people out lurking in the streets at a slightly slower pace. On a skateboard pushing, keeping in motion, creating your own breeze with wheels underfoot, staying ahead of the heat by dipping into some air conditioned skate shop or watering hole. Busy plotting adventures, events and experiences to share with the SKATEYOGI community, I wanted to get this dispatch out to keep you tuned in before the summer really sets in.

First adventure kicks off next week as I join Amigo Skate Cuba on a trip down to Havana to support the local scene and host the first official Go Skateboarding Day in the city. Can't wait to spread the good vibes to the skaters there and bring back lots of memories and stories to share with you guys :)

 SKATEYOGI Classes
This weekend we will wrap up the late spring schedule of drop-in classes. On Saturday we have the Groms at 9:45am and Adult Beginners at 11am. On Sunday there's another Groms session at 9:45am and a Shredders class at 11am. Come beat the heat and join us for an air-conditioned ramp sesh! Sign up here! SKATEYOGI Summer Camp 2015
It's not too late to sign up for summer camp! Starting June 29, we'll be using Skate Brooklyn as our home base and exploring the local skate spots! For grades K-5, absolute beginners welcome and you can pick and choose your weeks. Each week will have a different theme in afternoon SKATEYOGI Lab sessions with hands-on demonstrations and projects including physics, engineering, arts and photography. Read all about it here! SKATEYOGI presents Skate Brooklyn Adult Swim!
Every Thursday evening from 8pm to midnight we're kicking the kids out so the adults can have some fun! Everyone is welcome regardless of ability to come hang out and skate the ramp. We even have some extra boards and gear to borrow if you need it. Nothing but good vibes for anyone who wants to try out skateboarding.
