The new Rockaway Skatepark at Beach 91st Street is a plethora of concrete transition and street skating obstacles. It flows really well and has something for everyone. I love the mini ramp snake run for getting a taste of bowl skating without the intimidating height of larger bowls. Cool off in the beach right on the other side of boardwalk.
Just a few blocks up the boardwalk from the skatepark is the bathroom station and for lunch there's the aptly named Rippers where you can grab burger, fries and some yummy cinnamon soft serve ice cream. If you've got a car and are looking for some additional skating I recommend checking out the older Far Rockaway Skatepark which conveniently has a parking lot. The older Far Rockaway Skatepark complements the newer park really well. Although they are both concrete parks with a mix of transition and street there are quite a few differences in the design and layout. I personally enjoy flowing around the park and finding some eccentricities for creative skating. The campers were also having a blast going up and down the many inclines in the park giving it a nice surfy feel. Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach We can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach!

Find an age group and time of week that works for you. Soon your little ones will have a class group of friends they are skating and having fun with! See you at skate class! Kevin A picture is worth a thousand words and even more so when shot by our incredibly talented friend Los! He is a pro skate photographer and came to hang with us at camp last Friday. The campers got to see what it's like to shoot magazine quality pics with a fisheye lens, extra flashes and unique angles. We can't wait to share the awesome photos he took of our camp!
This weekend we are kicking off our first round of the Summer 4-Week Series for skaters who prefer the shorter format of a class. Keep learning and having fun with us this summer! Kevin P.S. Summer Shop Hours starting this Saturday 7/8. Through 8/26, we will be closed on Saturdays. Yesterday was International Go Skateboarding Day, the official kick off of the summer skateboard season. Our summer campers joined in the fun at an event at the newly reopened Brooklyn Banks. They felt the energy of the NYC skate community and witnessed some top tier tricks go down on the 9-stair, rail and down ledges. After this I skated from downtown to Williamsburg to join another GSD event. Along the way I saw skaters out and about, nodding heads and going in different directions. There was a buzz in the air on our holiday that was a nice reminder of how fun and freeing it is to push around.
Looking forward to keeping that energy going through the summer camp season! Kevin This parent + me class is designed for toddlers ages 2-3. Parents will be participating in the class to assist their own child. A great way to try out our tots class before the fall season.

We understand that there is some concern about the air quality in our area right now. Normally, we would try to spend as much time as possible outside whenever we can with our camps and 90-min classes; however, if the Air Quality Index continues to be rated Unhealthy, we will have classes remain indoors to skate. Both our PLG and Williamsburg facilities have air conditioning and HEPA air filtration. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions! Thank you for your understanding. All the best, SKATEYOGI Here at SKATEYOGI, we are on the mission to help create a world where our differences are celebrated with peace and respect – besides how we look, there are many differences among us, including disabilities (many, invisible), illnesses, gender identities, sexuality etc.
Let's celebrate diversity! Thank you for all your love and support! SKATEYOGI Just in! Parktage by SKATEYOGI Instructor Nina featuring our favorite skate spot in Prospect Park!5/30/2023 All the SKATEYOGI classes are held as usual during the Memorial Day weekend.
