"All Good Things are Wild and Free."
-Henry David Thoreau With a lot of recent talk about climate issues, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on how skateboarding factors in on a personal level. When you skate around doing errands you’re not just adding some fun to your day, but also lowering your carbon footprint. Skating is best in cities which are inherently more environmentally friendly than more spread out communities due to economies of scale and shared goods and resources. Skateboards are one of the many alternative transport options that move us around without burning fossil fuels. As NYC skaters have experienced for years, our skateboards are both the journey and the destination. We skate to the spots building stamina along the way, and at the spots challenge our balance and coordination with tricks that then help our agility back in the streets. You’ll see in all our classes that we cover both fundamentals and tricks. Maybe soon you’ll be saving the bus fare and skating to school or work! See you out there! Namaskate! Kevin
