Hi everyone! This is Kevin from SKATEYOGI. While I was taking care of a few things at our shop, I figured I would make a quick video for some skateboard hacks you can do at home while social distancing! I actually had my first ever virtual skateboarding lesson with a student from Houston, TX. That worked really well – we looked at his kick flips; he learned frontside no complies; we played the game of SKATE etc. That was really cool, and we are thinking of doing more virtual lessons! If you already have a normal skateboard...let's turn it into an indoor skateboard!First, I'm going to show you how to make your normal skateboard a little easier to skate inside. Step 1: Take a skate tool (or socket wrench) Step 2: Tighten the axle nut (Turn it to the right clockwise) – Don't overdo it to avoid damaging your bearings. Step 3: Tighten until your wheel doesn't spin that well. Step 4: Repeat x 3 Now, you have a board that's more stable. If you are going to be "skating" in a smack area like a room with a carpet, even a little patch of concrete you might have in a basement or anywhere you can find. 1. Practice Your Stance1. Step up and down (watch the video to learn the basics of how to step on/off the board here!) 2. With your front foot on the board, practice pushing by moving your back foot. Develop your balance. 3. Practice going up and down 4. Give yourself a little challenge - Balance without touching anything! 2. Flip the board3. Jump onto the board
