Another Sunday late edition! Hi everybody! Sorry, another week with the forecast slipping deep into the weekend but what a beautiful day it is!! The subject line references this past Wednesday which woulda been Harold Hunter's 40th Birthday. He passed away in 2006 but his legacy lives on as one of the quintessential skateboarders in NYC history, touching so many hearts with his energy and known to a larger audience for his role in the movie Kids. The Harold Hunter Foundation threw a birthday bash for him with some previously unreleased documentary footage playing downstairs keeping the memory fresh. Their mission is to harness the power of skateboarding to transform lives. Skate Classes! Classes are definitely a go for today! Groms at 11am and Shredders at 12:30pm. Looking forward to another awesome sesh with everyone! Free skate events next weekend!! Next saturday is the Gowanus Grind from 11am-4pm sponsored by Homage and others. It's in Thomas Greene Park on 3rd ave between Degraw and Douglass with a free skate clinic from 2-4pm and food and other fun things. Then stick around andskate a few blocks over to Skate Brooklyn for the Girl Riders Org All-Girls sesh from 4-7pm (4-5:30pm for beginners; 5:30-7pm for advanced). Good times!! Clip of the week... For the this weeks clip I'm posting up Harold Hunter's part from the 1993 Underworld Element video Skypager to keep the legend alive. Namaskate!!
