"Interested in getting a board but not sure what size?"

​Walking in to a skate shop to pick out a board for the first time can be a bit overwhelming with all the specifications you have to choose from.

One important decision to make is board width. Among the standard popsicle shaped skateboard decks, this is the defining measurement.

​A narrower deck allows for tighter turns and more technical tricks while a wider board offers more stability.

For kids ages 6 and up
We recommend around a 7.5" deck. Even younger skaters (Tots ages 2-5) can benefit from a narrower and often shorter deck around 7-7.25".

For teens and adults
Standard decks range from 7.75-8.5" depending on personal preference. We've seen a lot of beginners do well on a 8" deck, offering a good mix of turning and stability.
