Skate like a Groundhog! Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted 6 more of winter, but our Spring Series classes are heating up! We've been having lots of fun creating new skate setups in our indoor ramp spaces. (Please email us if you are interested in enrollment.) We had a taste of winter camp fun for Lunar New Year. The mini campers enjoyed the extended session and the Kids camp took advantage of thawing temps to visit nearby McCarren Skatepark. We are looking forward to a week of camp fun for Midwinter Break Feb 17-21! (For Little Kids Mini Camp, we have a camp on Tue 2/17 only.) See you at the sesh! Kevin ![]() Kevin's Spot Check 9 flat 9 at 125 Borinquen Place Brooklyn, NY The cool thing about being a skateboarder in a place like NYC is that you often come across skate spots you recognize from skate videos. The feeling is a little bit like deja vu. A reverse situation happened 2 months ago when I was watching a clip of a skater ollieing down a huge stair set. I instantly recognized this spot since it's right across the street from Brooklyn Arbor where we pick up kids for afterschool. It's incredibly massive, 18 stairs in total with a landing in the middle (a "9 flat 9" in skate lingo), but I always wondered if it was possible. Yesterday on our walk back to SKATEYOGI we took the kids to investigate. First looking at the run up and starting point, then we walked down the stairs to peer up from below. Very impressive! If you're in the area, go take a look. Or keep your eyes out for the next NYC skate spot!
