Patience, patience... The other day riding my bike into the city I swung by the LES park to scope the conditions and saw the glimmer of hope of about 10 skaters pushing around the dry patch in the middle with a few ledges clear enough to skate, by this point in the winter totally neglecting the fact that it was well below freezing. Before I had a chance to come back later in the week we were blessed with another absurd dump of snow. If it's your first time catching the forecast click on over to previous posts for the scoop on indoor skate events both for general admission all-ages jams and the specialty categories of "old man" and ladies-only. There's something for everyone. Last week's Ladies only sesh at Skate Brooklyn was such a chill time. Even got the little one to come out and shred her new setup! The bright side to this permafrost is that everyone is really upping their miniramp game. Speaking for myself, the weekly return to familiar ramps all winter long has awakened some long dormant transition tricks I thought would only be fond memories at this point of my life. And judging from the ever increasing attendance at Old Man Monday's at the Homage TF the trend of continuing to skate into your 30s is well established.

This series is called The Berrics Presents - New York City and has some really well done profiles on notable points of intereset in NYC skate culture including local skate shops, spots and brands as well as other parts of the larger NYC skate ecosystem like 'Snice, a vegetarian eatery that employs some of NYC's best skaters with flexible day jobs. Namaskate! Kevin
