Time to stretch! Haven't really been into baseball since I was a kid but I remember my dad taking me to shea stadium to catch the mets and at the 7th inning you could get up and move around before staying put through the end of the game and it looks like that might be a good analogy for this weekend with forecasted highs of 52 and 47 and most of the snow washed away by the non frozen precipitation we've been getting in recent days. Be sure to take advantage of some outdoor skating time because next week its back to highs below freezing for the whole week. Cant be that much longer with March just around the corner.... Yoga mats and miniramps On the indoor front we had a pretty rad prez day weekend kicking off with a valentines day edition of breath and beats at Urban Asanas with a couple skateyogis there on the mats and chilling afterwards. Everyone was super stoked at Saturday's adult skateyogi class when Stephanie got her first drop-in on the ramp! She made it her new year resolution and has been coming every week getting closer and closer. Virtual fist bumps and high fives circulated through the weekend for those not there to witness in person. Sunday's kids class was pretty chill probably due to the long weekend and school vacations. Classes are on as usual this weekend so hope to see you there! Adults on saturday at 11am and kids on sunday at 11am. Hit me up if you're interested in private lessons either day 12:30pm. Slots still available. Clip of the Week - Stoops Magazine For this week's clip of the week I want to give a shout-out to NYC skateboarder Eby Ghafarian who just launched a kickstarter campaign to start a NYC skateboarding photo magazine called Stoops Magazine. If you've ever skated in NYC in recent years chances are you've bumped into Eby. He's a super cool dude and lives for skateboarding. Check out the pitch video which gives a good snapshot of his vision, basically capturing the current era of NYC skateboarding through high quality photographs. It's only got a month to get funded so pop on over and pledge to be a part. There are cool goodies at every level of contribution but how tight would it be one of the first to rock a Stoops hoodie?! Check it out here. Peace, love and powerslides!
