Some arctic vibes earlier this week are mellowing out to prime skate weather today and the next few days. Skaters out in the streets trying to stack skate clips like a squirrel hiding nuts for the upcoming winter. Bruised and battered myself on about 40 tries to unsuccessfully capture some weird gap to fallen tree grind/ride to drop off into some hectic chinatown sidewalk. Come get your shred on in Brower park this saturday at noon!! As always it's an open-level drop-in session, newbies and more experienced skateyogis are all welcome ($15/class, $5 for a board rental, just lemme know if you need one). If you find yourself wandering around the Lower East Side tonight with nothing to do come stop by the Sunshine Theater at 143 East Houston at 9pm for the star studded premiere of the skate video The Brodies. You'll be sure to see all the a-list skate celebs turning out for this one. But if you're like me and have to ration your nights out, snuggle up to today's installment of the week-long internet premiere of Zero Skateboards new video Cold War. I usually tire quickly of the stunt action level of current mainstream skate videos but this dude Dane Burman has a part that is so gnarly, hesh and tech all at the same time and would be a good place for everyone to take a pulse on the state of the art in skateboard wizardry. Dont sleep on this though cause I think these are only gonna be up for a day or two, then you'll have to go buy it on itunes or just not see it. Check it. Namaskate! Kevin
