Third Annual SKATEYOGI Ramp Egg Hunt!

Hi there!

The weather has been a bit iffy the past few weeks. If you timed it right though, there's been some good days for street skating. The afterschool skate club has enjoyed outdoor sessions at our local spot, known in the skate community as "Douglass" aka Double D aka Thomas Greene Playground. A couple of concrete obstacles and smooth flat ground is all it took to have the whole club singing all the way back to Skate Brooklyn :)

​Last week I became a SKATEYOGI parent as the little one decided all by herself to join the afterschool skate club. It's been great for perspective. Skating with the other kids, I see her learning from them, getting inspired to try new tricks and doing it all on her own. I can now view SKATEYOGI as both a teacher and parent. We are not shaping or dictating what students should do to progress. Instead, we create a safe environment for them to express themselves through skateboarding. Showing them the paintbrush and the canvas and letting them create their own art! Namaskate!

Weekend Classes

• The 6-week series are on pause for this weekend. 
• SKATEYOGI egg hunt is ON for this Saturday! TWO sessions 9:30am & 12:30pm Tomorrow, we continue our favorite Spring tradition: the Third Annual SKATEYOGI Ramp Egg Hunt! Sign up as usual for the Kids Drop-in Class. Immediately following the class, we will hide eggs filled with skate goodies all over the ramp space while having the kids wait upstairs. We've added an early drop-in class at 9:30-10:30am to give more kids a chance to join in. And we'll have cookies and coffee for the grown-ups too :)
• SKATEYOGI Adult Class Sat 11am-Noon Come enjoy cookies and coffee!

Afterschool Spring Session
SKATEYOGI Afterschool Spring Session starts April 4.
Thank you to everyone that his signed up for the spring session! Wednesday is now FULL but we have 2 more spots left on Mondays. On Monday we pickup at PS321 and PS118. Otherwise, drop off at Skate Brooklyn at 3:30pm and pickup by 6pm.

Summer Camp
SKATEYOGI Summer Camp 2016 registrations open! Sign up today!
Looking forward to hanging with the summer camp crew this summer! This year we will run for 6 weeks from July 5 through August 12. Registrations are coming in but there's still room in all weeks. In addition to learning to shred, each week will have a different STEM topic in math, science or engineering applied to skateboarding with hands on activities and labs. Check out last summer's highlight video here!
