"Hey SKATEYOGI, where can I go skate in NYC?"
Although this year's winter seems to have no ending–when will this cold weather end?! – we can surely see signs of spring all around us. Cherry blossoms at the Brooklyn Museum and BBG are in their full bloom. We have started to see more and more people walking into our space, asking for starter boards. One of the FAQs we get this season in particular is where to go skating in the city. There are countless spots in NYC after all. The best bet is to start off at your local park with a little bit of flatground to get comfortable pushing around. Oftentimes, schoolyards are open outside of school hours and have lots of space to practice your basics. When you're ready to explore the plethora of skate parks in the city we recommend going in the morning hours before the crowds show up. That way you can get a feel for the layout without fear of crashing into someone.
