It's Always Sunny in SKATEYOGI
Hope you are staying warm in this cold weather! Skating the outdoor ramp in shorts may still be a few months away, but we are staying warm and cozy skating hard in our indoor spaces! For the kids we've got Spring Series starting up next Saturday (Jan 25) and a few day camps coming up for a day packed with skate fun on Jan 20 (MLK Day) and Jan 29 (Lunar New Year). Also a great time to start dreaming and planning for summer skate camp! For the adults, the open skate sessions on Wednesday and Friday nights have been a blast with an awesome mix of experience levels bringing great vibes. We've got the February Adult class series open for registration to take your skating to the next level (and complimentary open skate access). See you at the session! -Kevin Kevin's Spot Check Series: Japan Part 2 The Yago Skatepark This indoor miniramp oasis on the outskirts of Tokyo had been on my radar for years and fortunately on this trip I was able to visit. Even better, the timing aligned with their adult open skate hours. The entire skate area is comprised of 3 miniramps of ascending heights (2,3 and 4 foot) all with the same radius. During my session there I had fun bouncing back and forth between the ramps. A loft upstairs has a small shop space and a place to chill. When I was there the vibes felt very much like an adult open skate at SKATEYOGI with a good mix of experienced and adult beginners. Everyone was smiling and clicking boards proportionate to everyone’s effort. Really glad I got to visit and share the session with everyone!
